Gong Xi Raya Celebration at MERC International School!

Yesterday, our school came alive with the joyful spirit of Gong Xi Raya—a vibrant celebration that beautifully combined the traditions of Chinese New Year and Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The day was filled with laughter, colour, and a true sense of togetherness as students and teachers joined hands to honour Malaysia’s rich multicultural heritage.

The celebration kicked off with a series of wonderful performances that showcased the artistic talents of our students. Music, dance, and drama came together to tell stories of unity, harmony, and joy.

One of the highlights of the day was the festive fashion show, where students proudly wore traditional outfits—from the elegant cheongsam and baju kurung to the stylish samfu and baju melayu. It was a dazzling display of culture and creativity, with every outfit reflecting the blend of traditions that define our nation.

Adding to the excitement were the Angpow games and lucky draw sessions, which brought plenty of laughter and anticipation as students eagerly hoped for their names to be called.

The fun didn’t stop there! The school grounds buzzed with activity as students participated in traditional mini games such as Batu Seremban, Bulu Ayam, Congkak, Guli, and the ever-popular Chopstick Orange challenge. These games sparked friendly competition, teamwork, and countless smiles all around.

Events like Gong Xi Raya remind us of the true essence of Malaysia—unity in diversity. Through learning, playing, and celebrating together, our students not only enjoy the festivities but also gain a deeper appreciation for the cultural harmony that makes our community so special.
